The major festival of Assam is Bihu. Since Assam is said to be the meeting point of different ethnic groups, people of different ethnic groups have been celebrating Bihu in their own style. The Mising people are not left behind in this regard. The Mising people also celebrate the three Bihu festivals in their own style. Bohag Bihu  The Mising people celebrate goru Bihu on the last day of the Assamese month of Chat. There are many different types of Bihu, including Uruka on the day before Goru Bihu and Bihu on the day after Goru Bihu. Since the Mising people live on the river banks, on the morning of Goru Bihu, they take their cows to bathe in the river with paste of turmeric and black gram and digalthi leaf. In the evening, the cows are dressed in new pogha and fed salted bread. Three days before the start of Bihu, young men and women go to the courtyard of the village headman with apang and various food items to seek permission to celebrate Bihu, which is called Huchori Nomuwa festival. Mising housewives and young women are busy preparing apong for guests about 15 days before Bihu. There are also many different types of pitha making on the day of Goru Bihu.

During Bihu, relatives go from house to house and married daughters come to their parents' houses. There are many ways to get away from these things, but the most important thing is to get away from these things. At the end of the month of Bohag, the villagers plant a bean tree along the river and decorate the tree and have a meal in the evening to bid farewell to the year of Bohag.
